Super Rare Ferrari For Sale

One of the world’s fastest modified sportscars is on sale at Trader – an 800bhp Ferrari F50 supercar.

The incredibly rare Ferrari F50 was made in the mid 1990s and came standard with a 520bhp 4.7-litre engine.

But this Ferrari F50 has been boosted to produce a whopping 800bhp – making it one of the fastest cars in the world.

The convertible F50’s trademark V12 engine has had two turbochargers with adjustable boost pressures bolted on, and is fitted with an upgraded exhaust, electrics and inter-coolers to stop it from melting.

And this engine work has meant the drop-top Ferrari – widely considered to be the finest driver’s Ferrari ever built – can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3 seconds.

This makes it nearly a second faster than the standard F50 and half a second faster than the Ferrari Enzo.

And the car’s 800bhp makes it more powerful than Paris Hilton's Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and Porsche Carrera GT, and puts it on a par with the 806bhp Koenigsegg CCX.

The Ferrari F50 was built to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary, and just 349 models were built between 1995 and 1997. Apparently the company just announced that in order to maintain the ferrari brand's exclusivity, it will produce one less car this year! Or maybe they're just using that as an excuse to cover up the drop in sales due to a recession!

If you're wealthy enough, you can pick up this sweet Ferrari for a whopping $800,000. But if you're like rest of us poor people, you'll have to make do with cheap Ferrari Clothing!

Do I Need To FIll Premium Gas In My Car?

Last year, I got a 2005 model Acura TSX. The owners manual recommend filling it with premium 91 octane gasoline. But with premium gas selling for nearly $4.50/gallon, I was starting to wonder whether it was really worth it.



I tried filling the car with low grade gasoline and I immediately felt the drop in performance. The mileage also decreased slightly. However, with mid-grade, there was barely any perceptible difference in performance or mileage. According to CNNMoney, it shouldn't really make a difference.

With prices already over $4.00 a gallon, premium gasoline is a hard sell these days. But a lot of drivers think because their owners' manual recommends premium, they'll get better fuel economy if they stick with it. Really, they're paying more money for nothing.

Even cars for which premium is recommended won't suffer with regular fuel. Modern engine technology comes to the rescue again. When sensors detect regular instead of premium fuel, the system automatically adjusts spark plug timing. The result is a slight reduction in peak horsepower - really, you'll never notice - but no reduction in fuel economy.

There you have it. If you realize that you're 200HP TSX is now a 150HP Accord and are willing to drive it like one, you shouldn't notice any reduction in fuel economy!

Hogs Pigging Out And An Ethanol Alternative

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, the rush to produce ethanol has resulted in sharply higher prices for corn. Corn is used to feed cattle and pigs and as a result of the price increase, farmers are feeding their pigs trail mix, candy and Top Ramen noodles!

Besides trail mix, pigs and cattle are downing cookies, licorice, cheese curls, candy bars, french fries, frosted wheat cereal and peanut-butter cups. Some farmers mix chocolate powder with cereal and feed it to baby pigs. "It's kind of like getting Cocoa Puffs," says David Funderburke, a livestock nutritionist at Cape Fear Consulting in Warsaw, N.C., who helps Mr. Smith and other farmers formulate healthy diets for livestock.

California farmers are feeding farm animals grape-skins from vineyards and lemon-pulp from citrus groves. Cattle ranchers in spud-rich Idaho are buying truckloads of uncooked french fries, Tater Tots and hash browns.

In Pennsylvania, farmers are turning to candy bars and snack foods because of the many food manufacturers nearby. Hershey Co. sells farmers waste cocoa and the trimmings from wafers that go into its Kit Kat bars. At Nissin Foods, maker of Top Ramen and Cup Noodles, farmers drive to a Lancaster, Pa., factory and load up on scraps of the squiggly dried noodles, which pile up in bins beneath the assembly line. Hiroshi Kika, a senior manager at the company, says the farm business is "very minor" but helps the company's effort to "do anything to recycle."

Mr. Smith says he's paying about $63 to feed a single pig for five or six months before it goes to market -- up 13% from last year. His costs would be even higher if he didn't augment his feed with trail mix, which he says helps him save on average about $8 a ton on feed. This year, Mr. Smith has bought enough trail mix to feed about 5,000 hogs, and that will save him about $40,000.

Its only a matter of time before corn prices become too expensive for human consumption in the US. Already its too expensive for people in Mexico and being a major ingredient in their diet, thats having an inflationary effect on their lifestyle.

Rather than using corn-based ethanol, I wish the government would look into using vegetable oil instead. There are several kits available for diesel cars that allow the owners to switch to "used" vegetable oil whenever its available. In Southern California, there are companies like Socal Greasers that will fit your diesel car with a converter kit for a reasonable price.

So next time you stop by a fast-food place for a meal you can ask the manager for some of their used cooking oil. They have to pay to dispose of it and are usually happy to give it to you for free. It burns much cleaner than gasoline and your exhaust has a nice french-fry smell too!

The BMW just unvieled it's new concept car, and its rumored to be the new 8-series. Very nice!

The CS feels like an evolution of that philosophy with sharper edges and swoopier surfaces all around. Underhood we’ll find a 6.0-liter V12, which is essentially the M5 5.0-liter V10 with two extra cylinders. That’s a nice modular motor for BMW if that ends up being the case, with 10-cylinder, 12-cylinder, and V8 versions used across the Motorsport models
